Collection of VFW Memorial Day flags, so that they may be reused for next year. Collection of the flags is in keeping with protocol established at Arlington Cemetery and not only allows for reuse of the flags, but also ensures the flags don’t become soiled, torn or fall to the ground with the effects of weather and passage of time.

Flag collection is weather dependent, as we don’t want to collect very wet flags to bundle and keep for next year. We will make a decision within 48 hours of the collection date as to whether we will need to postpone. 

Please use the Main Street entrance, we will gather and give out section assignments. Please park on the left after crossing the bridge. FYI, flag collection requires fewer volunteers, as we are just collecting the VFW’s white tipped flags placed a few weeks ago. This should take no more than 1 hour.
