Education Garden Helper
Tuesday, September 09 2025
We have a bountiful bustling education garden on the grounds, nestled on the hill in front of the Goat Enclosure.
We are looking for 1-2 volunteers to regularly help upkeep the area, including but not limited to: weeding, weed-whacking, watering, filling a wheelbarrow up with discarded plant material and then wheeling over to our compost area, and hauling dirt up the hill to replenish the soil in our education beds.
This role will be trained by and work with Forest Friends Co-Director and Co-Teacher Megan Recupero. The following physical tasks are required to do this role including, but not limited to: standing, squatting, kneeling, bending, pivoting and lifting upward of 30 lbs. See attached "Tips for Field Volunteers" for further information on how to dress and prepare for the day.
You will not be interacting with children, as this task will occur after school is out for the day.
