Event Sign Up Sheet | Track It Forward

Patrick Lynch Elementary School

Wednesday, March 15 2023

Urban Forestry is working with Patrick Lynch Elementary and Depave to plant 10 trees in a depaved space on the school grounds.
For this project, we are looking for adult volunteers who will work with 5th grade students to plant the trees!

We have two shifts for this event to accommodate the schedules of two different classrooms.
If you can make it to both shifts, please sign up for both. Otherwise, please pick the shift most convenient for you.

Work will include:
-Setting out tools
-Watching a demonstration on how to properly plant a tree
-Leading elementary students in the tree planting process.
-Helping students dig their hole and talking them through the steps for tree planting.
-Staking trees
-Cleaning up tools

Details:
-We will work rain or shine, so be sure to dress for the weather and wear closed-toe shoes.
-Snacks and water will be provided to volunteers. Please bring a reusable water bottle.
-Urban Forestry will have gloves and all the tools needed.

*Volunteers working this event need to have a background check on file with Portland Parks & Recreation. If you aren't sure if you have a background check on file or need to fill out the form, please contact Molly at molly.wilson@portlandoregon.gov.
If you are a Neighborhood Tree Steward or you have planted with us at schools in the past, you likely already have a background check on file.
