Ainsworth Linear Arboretum Tree Walk

Saturday, April 16 2022

Ainsworth Arboretum (Meet on the SE corner of NE 30th Ave and NE Ainsworth St. )

Saturday, April 16, 2022. 9:00 am - 10:30 am.

Come explore Portland's Linear Arboretum on a Saturday morning this spring. The 90-minute walk will be led by Arboretum founder Jim Gersbach, a graduate of UF's Neighborhood Tree Steward program and a member of the Concordia Tree Team.

In 2005 as part of his neighborhood tree steward project he came up with the idea of devoting the Ainsworth median and north and south right-of-way planting strips as places to plant new and promising street trees. The walk will cover how the project has diversified a "maple desert" into a diverse tree-scape featuring many trees not commonly seen elsewhere in Portland. Learn more and register online.

Before registering or attending any in-person event, please read the attached Safe Stewardship Protocols.
