LMNGNO's Next Book Group Meeting: Sunday

Sunday, February 05 2023

Fellow Naturalist:

Thanks for joining us this past Sunday for the discussion of Brown Pelican. While the book was not anyone's favorite, it brought out many ideas that made for a wonderful discussion on themes that will tie in nicely with our next read: conservation, global warming, wildlife ecology. A special thanks to fellow LMNGNO member, Kathleen Schrenk, for letting us gather at her home while the thunderstorms came through. For our next read we're going to tackle the classic A Sound County Almanac by Aldo Leopold. This book is considered one of the most influential books in the founding of ecology, modern environmentalism and conservation. The book deals with many philosophical issues and is considered a masterpiece in literature in its own right. If you havent read it, it's a must and if you have read it- it's worth another look.

I know people will have Mardi Gras stuff happening and it may make it hard to come out, but a quick discussion among some good folks is a perfect elixir to a wild evening of parading. Hope to see you there! Any questions, just shoot me a note. Book info attached.
