Volunteer Bird Stewards Needed!
Join Audubon staff at Holly and Rutherford Beach to protect beach-nesting birds this holiday weekend. Volunteers are needed to protect nesting areas by engaging with the public about the birds and their young, flightless chicks.
When:
Saturday, May 28th, 10 am – 5 pm
Sunday, May 29th, 10 am -5 pm
Monday, May 30th, 10 am – 3 pm
Where:
Holly and Rutherford Beach, Cameron Parish, LA
To sign up for a shift, please email Louisiana Coastal Stewardship Manager, Katie Barnes, at katie.barnes@audubon.org.
Audubon will provide cold water, safety vests, and outreach materials to share with beachgoers.
Volunteers should bring: snacks and/or lunch for your scheduled shift, sunscreen, beach chair, sun-protective clothing, and hat.
