Baton Rouge Audubon : Peveto Work Day this Saturday!
Saturday, March 19 2022
This Saturday from 10 to 2 pm, you are invited to help with our maintenance
day at Baton Rouge Audubon's Pevato Woods Migratory Bird Sanctuary. Come
early to bird or be there by 10 am. We will work together to accomplish the
following objectives:
1. Replace the old highway signs with new ones. One was blown away and
the other bent and damaged.
2. Mark Young will do some mowing this week to open it up for the trail
trimmers.
3. Other work needed is the same as always. Cut back and open up the
trails. Brush around the benches needs clearing.
Please bring your own tools and supplies, mostly clippers, loppers, brush
hooks, limb saws, rakes and gloves. A few chainsaws will probably help.
Bring a sack lunch and your preferred drinks to stay hydrated. We will have
extra water on site to share around. A Dutch Oven peach cobbler will be
provided for dessert.
Contact Dave Patton or David Booth with any questions. The location is in
the Little Florida subdivision just off of Highway 82 just west of Holly
Beach. It is an eBird Hotspot.
