BUILT BAYOU Deployment
Saturday, December 11 2021
Below is a message from Chris Plattsmier regarding a fantastic volunteer opportunity.
Good afternoon everyone,
There is a gumbo of folks on this email, some of you have helped with BUILT BAYOU since the beginning, while some are new friends made over the weekend. Regardless, thank you to everyone who has contributed to the project or expressed interest in helping. We are excited to wrap up construction on the 3 structures to be deployed on December 11 and 12 this weekend and are looking to finalize the volunteer count. We are estimating needing roughly 20 volunteers for deployment and would love to have 8-10 folks building this weekend on December 5 (9 AM – 4 PM, come as you can). Please see the link below to a Google Form to see more information and sign up to volunteer. Some of you on this email won’t be able to make it, but we would love if you blasted it out to your networks! Ashley and I will be following up with more details on the deployment and team assignments after we get an idea of who can commit.

Additional information from Google Form:
Please note, if you want to volunteer on December 11 and/or 12 to deploy the structures in Terrebonne/Lafourche parishes, the deployment will take up the entire day and it is a roughly 2 hour trip from New Orleans. There is a chance there will be minimal work to be conducted on December 12, but for planning purposes we will anticipate a two day deployment. Chris Plattsmier or Ashley Dove Greene from Williams Architects will follow up with you site and team assignments for December 11 and 12.
We prefer volunteers for the 11 and 12 attend the December 5 build day as well, as to familiarize themselves with the structures before deployment. We encourage volunteers to carpool in groups, bring water/snacks, wear long sleeve shirts and pants, and bring gloves. Tools will be provided. Volunteers will be required to sign a waiver of liability and publicity release.
Please let Chris know via email if you have any questions, I am merely highlighting this opportunity.
