Cypress planting at Bayou Sauvage NWR

Monday, November 15 2021

the Louisiana Iris Conservation Initiative to reforest one of Louisiana's last remaining ridge forests by planting bald cypress on Monday, November 15, 730-10:30 a.m. This is a continuation of the project discussed at the Bayou Sauvage workshop with the Fall 2021 LMNGNO class, where I discussed Tallow removal efforts and continuing the work of LMN, Dinyah Maygarden, in replanting the hardwoods and cypress along the ridge. As we know, Bayou Sauvage is a gem for wildlife in our area and needs more attention from us. Everything you need is provided, but bring water, long pants/shirts and boots.
