Boo on the Bayou: A Halloween Drive-thru Adventure: Join your friends at the Southeast Louisiana National Wildlife Refuges Complex and the Friends of Louisiana Wildlife Refuges, Inc. as we present "Boo on the Bayou." This is a FREE, fun-filled Drive-thru Halloween event that winds through our historic Bayou Lacombe Centre property. Stop at several locations to learn more about how wildlife like spiders, snakes, bats, owls and alligators are not spooky but helpful.
We ask that all participants remain in their vehicles at all times and follow the directional signage for the event. There will be a total of 6 stations, where you can drive up, and learn about a not-so-spooky animal. At the last station the first 200 participants will receive a goody bag with an owl pellet dissection activity! We are doing our best to keep our local community, staff and volunteers safe and maintain social distance, but still have a good time!
**This is NOT a Trunk-or-Treat event**
Follow current CDC safe practices by maintaining a safe distance between yourself and other groups, wear a cloth face mask/covering over the nose and mouth, especially when social distancing is difficult and wash your hands often with soap and water for at least 20 seconds. Volunteer Assistance needed:
Thursday, October 28 at 9 a.m. to assist in stuffing goody bags to be passed out on the day of event. 1 - 2 hours and no more than 4 people needed to assist.

Saturday, October 30 -- Boo on the Bayou Event -- need assistance with the following positions:
Traffic Control/car flow (2 people)
Presenter assistance -- anyone who is willing to assist our presenter stations holding up bio facts and talking about not so spooky animals such as spiders, snakes, owls, bats, alligators, and more.
Pass out goody bags (1 - 2 people)
