Fontainebleau State Park Invasive trees removal

Monday, December 20 2021

Fontainebleau State Park in Mandeville has not reopened to the public because of damage from Hurricane Ida, but the park manager has encouraged us to resume our work to remove invasive plants, primarily Chinese tallow trees. Please bring clippers or loppers, small hand saws and gloves and be prepared for muddy or wet conditions and mosquitoes. Bags and Garlon will be provided. You do not have to pay the park entrance fee. Drive through the entrance gate and follow signs to the museum/visitor center located behind the sugar mill ruins.
