PRESENTER: John Dillon, President of Louisiana Ornithological Society and a 10-year member of the Louisiana Bird Records Committee

DESCRIPTION: This is a thorough and easily approachable presentation that explains the often uncertain or confusing aspects of reporting rare bird species. From defining what exactly is meant by “rare” and explaining the inner workings of the state Bird Records Committee to incorporating the proper uses of eBird and field documentation, this presentation is meant to answer all your questions about the purposes, requirements, cautions, and benefits of rare bird documentation and reports.
