Description: Using Native Plants to Attract Birds

Baton Rouge Audubon Society and the Friends of Hilltop Arboretum are partnering to bring you an online webinar "Using Native Plants to Attract Birds" on May 9, 2021 from 6:30 to 8:00 pm and an online native plant sale. This is a spring version and will feature different plants than the presentation last fall.

For some time now, the Audubon Society has been promoting the use of native plants when landscaping our home places and gardens to attract and support bird life. In this webinar, Jane Patterson, President of Baton Rouge chapter of the Audubon Society, will talk about the importance of using native plants and discuss native plants that will attract birds to your yard. She will break it down into types of plants: trees, shrubs, perennials and discuss what you can expect as far as using these plants in your landscape.
