LaNERR Public Webinars (Louisiana National Estuarine Research Reserve)

The search for a site for a National Estuarine Research Reserve in Louisiana has begun and we want to involve you! Louisiana Sea Grant will be hosting two public webinars on Wednesday, December 9th, 2020, to provide information on the what the NERR system is and what it can do for Louisiana. Both in person and virtual attendance opportunities are available and audiences are encouraged to ask questions directly to Sea Grant and NOAA.

The National Estuarine Research Reserve System is a network of protected areas representative of the various biogeographic regions and estuarine types in the United States. Reserves are established for long-term research, education, and interpretation to promote informed management of the nation’s estuaries and coastal habitats. A reserve represents a partnership program between NOAA and coastal states. NOAA will provide funding and national guidance, and each site is managed on a daily basis by a lead state agency with input from local partner.

Two public webinars will be held Wednesday, December 9, 2020, one in the afternoon and one in the evening to accommodate most schedules.
