Campus Care Crew: Facilities Tasks - Volunteer Jobs To Do On Your Own Time (After School/Weekends)
We often get requests about facilities-type tasks that volunteers can come and do outside of our formal work parties. Here are a few ideas to get you started. Please feel free to reach out to Jesse at jesse.cloninger@ridgeline.org if you have a particular skill set and/or see something that you want to help with.
1. Weeding - Weeds have sprung throughout campus and it's always a good time to clean things up! Come on over, grab one of the gray yard waste bins (by the North sheds), pick a zone, and get into the zone...the WEEDING zone! The main areas to focus on are the Lower El playground and south side of Building A, the front of Building A, the small bed in the parking lot, and the large bed between Building B and the sidewalk. Bring your own weeding implements.
2. Cobweb Removal - There are always places that need cobweb removal on exterior walls, under eaves, and under the covered walkway. Come grab a broom and get after it.
3. Playground Mulch Management - Playground mulch gets compacted and moved around a lot. We need periodic help shoveling the mulch back under the swings where it gets kicked out and "fluffing" the mulch in the fall zones around climbing structures.
Special Projects
4. Caulk Crew - Do you like caulking, like maybe a lot of caulking? We are looking for a crew of people to help fill in the gaps *LITERALLY* starting with Building A. Being comfortable on a ladder (not high but still on a ladder) and ladder safety required, caulking experience helpful but not mandatory. Maybe you want to come and work by yourself, maybe it turns into another work party - let's see where it goes! We will provide tubes of caulk, a couple of caulk guns, and cleaning supplies - BYO caulk gun if you can. Reach out to Jesse at jesse.cloninger@ridgeline.org to hear more.
Pick a spot and go. We always need weeding in the beds in the front, between the buildings, and behind the school too. BYO Gloves and tools or make a plan with Jesse to borrow some of that the school owns.

We still have stumps that need to be hauled away along the west fence behind Building A. Let Jesse know if you can help move them and haul them away. We can provide a wheelbarrow and/or a dolly.
