Stroke Exams and Next Steps (Hosted by: EMIG x PCHAT)

Saturday, April 01 2023

As one of the leading causes of death in the United States, strokes are easily identifiable via FAST or Cranial Nerve exams. However, despite the efficiency of these exams, it is also important to identify what type of stroke is occurring so that one can properly treat the root cause.

EMIG would like to educate the community on how to perform these exams while also providing possible alleviation methods before EMS arrives on scene. We would like to educate patients and families on signs that warrant immediate medical attention as well as inform them that lack of these symptoms do not exclude the possibility of stroke. We would also like to provide information on risk factors for stroke and lifestyle modifications to decrease risks.

Location: God's Pantry (250 E Center St, Pomona, CA 91767)

Requirements: We ask that all volunteers dress in Navy Blue Scrubs with their White Coat and ID Badge.
