Alabama ranks #1 in the nation for kidney failure with more than 400,000 Alabamians living with chronic kidney disease, and 14,000 on dialysis. The Alabama Kidney Foundation’s annual Kidney Walk & Celebration events raise funds for Alabama’s kidney patients in need. Join us for the 2023 Kidney Walk & Celebration to show your support!

Set Up
Small tent set up/ chairs out/ tables up/move supplies to location/help unload containers to the stations from trailer/coolers & ice

Balloon. Blow Up and Decorate
Blow up & put balloon clusters around area/make sure that 2 chairs are with each vendor table/label all large tents, so vendors know where to go/help vendors unload to their tables

Registration
Welcome walkers. Collect registration packets and money, making sure all forms are complete and accurate. Mark which benchmark prizes they will receive on the prize slip. Waiver slip given (also used as door prize entry). Complete, detailed instructions for check-in will be available at the station. Give envelopes to the audit runner.

Volunteer Assignment Table
Help volunteers check in. Pass out volunteer assignments and direct them to the appropriate area. Reassign volunteers as needed.

Food and Beverage
Set up and monitor breakfast & drink service. Keep tables well stocked and area clean/neat. Make sure coolers are attended and paper products are available. Keep trash picked up around station

T Shirt Table
Hand out t-shirts after proof of registration has been established. Volunteers get t-shirts after participants but only if they have given Lisa their t shirt size. Table should not be left unattended

Vendor Booth Helper
Help the vendors unload their items and direct them to the three large tents in the Kidney Village. After the vendors are set up and event starts, monitor your assigned area to help them if the need anything, might need a break etc.

Benchmark Prize Table
Each walker must provide a prize slip that will indicate the prizes they have earned. The volunteer will then present the walker with the prizes earned. Benchmark Prize table cannot be left unattended! Or those hard earned prizes will disappear.:>)

Audit Room/Money Runner
Takes the registration packets to the Audit tent and watches over the auditor. This is important that she be allowed to audit the team donations and not worry about folks if they come up to ask questions, etc.

Children's Area
Assist with children’s games and activities. Provide supervision over inflatables. Provide supervision to the station you are assigned. We want to allow the kids to enjoy the activities and be safe during the event. Please keep up with the numbers of kids that are at your station for educational numbers that are submitted for grant opportunities.

Kids Coloring Table

DJ Assist
Assist with team and door prize distribution. Provide security observation over the prizes throughout the event. Make sure prizes are distributed to the correct recipients. Write down the names and phone number associated with the gift given.

Take Down/Cleanup
Break down all 10x10 tents, tables, and chairs. Tables and chairs to be stacked for pick up. Make sure all signs and decorations are taken down-signs to trailer, deposable items thrown away, packed supplies in appropriate boxes, and loaded in trailer. Please make sure the park and walk site is left clean and neat.
