Help Prune some American Elms and Other Trees in Alexandria's Ben Brenman Park

We'll be pruning some low branches on two 'Princeton' American Elm trees next to a walkway so passers by don't have to duck under the branches. We will also be limbing up some city-planted oak trees and a couple of Crepe Myrtles. There could be an opportunity to prune a Honey Locust with a dead central leader. In all cases, we will discuss the imperative of only making needed cuts on the tree/having a reason for every cut.

Please note that there will be an emphasis on coaching folks so as to grow and improve pruning ability. If you missed the Tree Stewards pruning class, or if you don't have pruning experience (or much pruning experience) you can count this as continuing education. This will be both an opportunity to help trees and an educational experience.
