Tree Stewards of Arlington and Alexandria

Please come lend a hand supervising/coaching/inspiring TD Bank corporate volunteers as they plant 32 to 35 trees in mowed areas of Alexandria's James Marx All Veterans Park.

Tree Stewards are also early needed starting in the morning to set up for the planting. Set up will occur between 7:00 am and 8:45 am; the TD Bank Volunteers will arrive a little before 9:00 am and the planting will kick off at 9:00 am.

So in addition to the early morning set up help, Tree Stewards will:
Welcome the outside volunteers
Ensure that all volunteers, Tree Stewards or outside participants, sign in on the city's waiver sheet
Welcome and engage with VIP guests/elected officials at the kick off
Manage the outside volunteers and coach them on correct planting, watering, staking, and mulching technique
Ensure that the correct trees get planted in the correct locations
Ensure that the day's events are photographed
Ensure all supplies, left over materials, and trash are picked up and packed out

Please note that there is abundant parking at Beatley Library; it is suggested that you park at Beatley Library and walk the two minutes to the planting site.
