Planting at Grandma’s Creek Park

Saturday, October 10 2026

Please come help plant a variety of native plants in Grandma's Creek Park.  The plants will come from the Native Plant Nursery, courtesy of nursery manager Sue Jung Kim.  The more people who sign up to participate, the more plants she will give us to put in the ground!  After many sessions spent removing invasive plants, it is exciting to be able to add new natives to this wooded park.  We will meet at the end of 6 St South in Arlington, the part of the park where we have been working for the past couple years.  Use the address 4729 6th St S, Arlington VA 22204 to find the exact location.

Please bring a trowel if you have one, as well as gloves.  When you sign up, send me a message if you would like to borrow a trowel, so I know how many I should borrow from Sue for this event.  Also bring your own water; a snack will be available to help keep energy levels up.

I hope some of you will be able to help, especially those who have helped to remove large quantities of invasive plants and make this planting possible!  Thank you.
