Dominion HIlls (Arlington) Invasive Pull
Saturday, January 17 2026
You're invited to join us to continue making progress on clearing Himalayan blackberry and other problem vegetation along Four Mile Run this weekend. Winter is a good time to tackle it because it's easy to see and remove when the leaves are absent. We are seeing real improvement in an area that was once so blanketed with vines (dead and alive) that we thought it was impenetrable, but we have broken through and finding trees and shrubs we never knew were there! (We are also uncovering trash and construction debris that needs collecting.)
Please come to help us continue the push -- and do your part for the 2026 MLK Day of Service, "Mission Possible!"
Walk-ins are welcome, but if you sign up in advance we can contact you directly if there is a change in plans. As of now, the forecast seems decent.
Dress for the weather. Wear a hat and sturdy shoes, long pants, and long sleeves. Poison ivy and insects shouldn't be big problems this time of year, but we will still have soap and our first-aid kit in case you get into something.
Bring water for yourself and gloves and hand tools if you have them. If not, we will have some to share.
Gather next to 1000 Patrick Henry Drive, Arlington. Look for the "Volunteers" sign.
There will be plenty of street parking.
We will provide light (homemade) snacks.
Questions? Don't hesitate to ask. Thank you in advance!!
