Arlington Tree Distribution

Tuesday, October 21 2025

Each year Arlington County makes 500 free native trees available to County residents and holds two pick-up days in October. We need volunteers (whether you're a county resident or not) to lend your expertise (and participate in the fun) on pick-up days. The trees are 1- to 3-gallon-sized "whips," so you don't have to be a lumberjack.

Please sign up (below) to volunteer for a shift on October 18 between 8 a.m. and 3 p.m. and/or October 21 between 3:00-6:00 p.m. to greet homeowners, help answer their questions about their trees (how to plant them correctly and care for them, etc.), or, if necessary, help them load their cars.

The location for pick-up will be at the Arlington Native Plant Nursery, 4208 Four Mile Run Dr., Arlington, located behind Tucker Baseball Field. The nearest intersection is South George Mason Dr. and South Four Mile Run Dr.. Click on the link to the map for more information (below). Park in the main lot on Four Mile Run Dr. and walk down the lane to the pick-up site. (Also accessible by bike from the nearby W&OD Trail -- you can lock your bike behind our tables.)
