Dominion HIlls (Arlington) Invasive Pull
Saturday, May 10 2025
Please join us for some invasive-control work along Four Mile Run in Dominion Hills, Arlington.
Gather at 1000 Patrick Henry Drive, Arlington, and look for the "Volunteers" sign. There is plenty of street parking.
Bring water and a hat for yourself, and hand tools and gloves if you have them. (See below for more information on what to wear.) We will have some gloves and tools to share. We will also have light snacks.
Caution: We have a bumper crop of poison ivy, and it's showing up in more areas, so we will have to be hyper-vigilant with precautions. Before you decide to come, consider whether you have appropriate shoes and clothing, and whether you can go straight home to change your clothes and shower afterwards. Please wear closed-toed shoes (or tall gardening boots if you have them), socks that cover cover your ankles, long pants, long sleeves (or arm protectors), and gloves that can cover your wrists. We will have gloves to lend, but they only cover the first 2 inches or so of the wrist. (With long enough sleeves, though, they could work OK.) We will have Ivy-X wipes (pre-contact and post-contact) to share, as well as some soap and water to wash your hands before we break for [delicious] snacks and before you leave for home.
