World Shorebird Day

Thursday, September 06 2018

The Global Shorebird Counting, held every year, is one of the key events of World Shorebirds Day. The annual Global Shorebird Counting demonstrates the importance of field work, supports observers in improving counting skills, and contributes to the increase of the number of birdwatchers and scientists monitoring shorebirds worldwide.

Here's how to get involved: https://worldshorebirdsday.files.wordpress.com/2018/08/shorebirdcounting...

World Shorebirds Day aims to:
Raise awareness of the need to protect shorebirds and their habitats throughout their life cycles;
Raise public awareness of the need for continued shorebird research, monitoring, and conservation;
Connect people with shorebirds through wetland sites around the world;
