MATHCOUNTS -Middle school math competition, network with local engineers

Volunteers hand out and collects tests, score tests and sort the papers according to teams. UMD math and engineering volunteers work with practicing engineers from the Duluth area. Event is in the Kirby Ballroom, 3rd floor of the Kirby Student Center. Coffee and donuts provided.
Background: Math competition for 7th- 8th grade students, sponsored by National Society of Professional Engineers, hosted by the Arrowhead chapter. There are 10 schools participating (85 students). The top two schools will go to the State competition in March. The top 4 students from State will represent Minnesota at the National competition this summer.
