South Branch Raritan River Long Valley Tree Planting Event - Washington Township, Morris County
Saturday, April 25 2026
Raritan Headwaters Association has partnered with Washington Township and the Washington Township Land Trust to improve the riparian buffer along the South Branch Raritan River in Long Valley and will be planting 80 native trees and shrubs along the riverbank on April 25th from 10:00am-12:00pm. We have set a rain date for April 26th from 10:00am-12:00pm.
RHA is seeking volunteers to help plant these trees and install tree protection to prevent deer browse. RHA will be pre-drilling holes for the trees, so no to very minimal digging will be necessary during the planting. If you are interested in joining us, please pre-register so we can properly plan. When registering for this event, please also complete the Volunteer Release form below. We will continue to provide updates by email closer to the event. Please reach out to Restoration Coordinator, Robert Lucas with questions rlucas@raritanheadwaters.org If you have any questions about volunteering for RHA, please email RHA's Volunteer Coordinator, Debbie Newcomb at dnewcomb@raritanheadwaters.org
