Melick's Bridge Tree Planting Event - Franklin Twp, Hunterdon County - RAIN DATE (if needed)

Tuesday, May 05 2026

Raritan Headwaters Association has partnered with Hunterdon County and AmeriCorps NJ Watershed Ambassador, Daniel Magda (WMA 8), to improve the riparian buffer along the South Branch Raritan River in Annandale and will be planting 250 native trees and shrubs along the riverbank on May 4th from 9:00am-2:00pm. We have set a rain date for May 5th from 9:00am-2:00pm.

RHA is seeking volunteers to help plant these trees and install tree protection to prevent deer browse. RHA and Hunterdon County will be pre-drilling holes for the trees, so no to very minimal digging will be necessary during the planting. If you are interested in joining us, please pre-register so we can properly plan. When registering for this event, please also complete the Volunteer Release and Photo Release forms below. We will continue to provide updates by email closer to the event. Please reach out to Restoration Coordinator, Robert Lucas with questions rlucas@raritanheadwaters.org If you have any questions about volunteering for RHA, please email RHA's Volunteer Coordinator, Debbie Newcomb at dnewcomb@raritanheadwaters.org.

Dress for the weather and working in an area with briars, tall grass and shrubs. This project site can be on the wet side, so please bring appropriate footwear (ideally taller boots).
