That’s Debatable: Debate 101

Wednesday, October 28 2026

From the founding of our nation to the great ideas that shaped history, respectful debate has always been essential to a free society. Yet in today’s culture, many people have lost the ability to disagree well, listen carefully, and engage with ideas without attacking one another.

In this interactive seminar, parents and scholars will discover why debate matters, how it develops critical thinking and communication skills, and what it means to have a “good argument.” Participants will learn the foundations of constructive disagreement, logical reasoning, and respectful dialogue while exploring how reclaiming these skills can strengthen families, communities, and civic life.

Whether you’re new to debate or simply want to communicate more effectively, this class will equip you with practical tools to think clearly, speak persuasively, and engage others with both conviction and grace
