Immigration Story Presentation
Friday, April 17 2026
We are looking for Individuals who have immigrated to Canada (either as an adult or child) and would be willing to share about their story and experience of moving to Canada! Our Grade 6’s are beginning a Social Studies unit on Human Migration, exploring why people move and the factors that influence someone’s decision to emigrate/immigrate to different places. We’re looking for middle school parent volunteers who would be interested in participating in a “human library” activity, in which you would share your story of moving to Canada, and about the various push/pull factors that shaped your immigration journey. We will introduce each guest, you’ll share a short summary of your story (where you moved from, how old you were, the main factors behind your move), then we will disperse to breakout rooms and students will come by in small groups to hear more and ask questions about your experience to learn more.
