Martin Luther King Day of Service - January 14 - 15, 2018

Sunday, January 14 2018

Martin Luther King Day of Service 2018 is one of the Friends of the Black Run Preserve’s largest events. Each year, several hundred members of the community choose to “make it a day on, not a day off” by volunteering at the preserve on this national day of service. This is an opportunity for Friends of the Black Run Preserve volunteers and supporters to transform Dr. King’s life and teachings into community action.

Around the country, people come together to deepen their commitment and connection to those in our community who are too often at its margins. Each year, our volunteers spend months preparing for these projects, doing outreach to other organizations, collecting donations and building lasting partnerships within their local communities.

Registration for the 2018 Day of Service events is now open! We will be improving the sustainability of the Black Run Trails in various areas of the preserve.
