pickITup Chinatown OCA East Bay

Sunday, December 11 2016

OCA-East Bay is organizing a regular series of "PickITup Chinatown" events on the second Sunday of each month. It's a Chinatown garbage cleanup event.

This will our third time doing this, and empowered by a lot of community support we've been able to pick up and take several pounds of trash out of our neighborhood, including cigarette butts, syringes, beer/liquor bottles, coffee/boba cups, and other miscellaneous dumping.

These cleanups could not have been possible without participation from Alameda High School LEO, Asian Youth Services Committee, Berkeley City College Lions Club, Chinese Community Unfied Methodist Church, Oakland High School BuildOn, as well as passionate individual community members.

With some new leaders emerging into the OCA-East Bay space, we're trying to bring some of it back to the grassroots. Special thanks to Chapter Boardmember Mike Moon for organizing this and recruiting involvement from T4, Metropolitan Bank, local Chinatown AllState owner Francis Lan, and Prime Image Media Group.

Additional thanks to T4 and Cam Huong Bakery for allowing us to use areas by their businesses for staging purposes.

Those who help out will get 20% discount at T4.

Hope to see you there. If you're not able to be there, please consider partnering with us on other months. For more info, contact Mike Moon mmoon@primeimageus.com
