Safety City Halloween 2026

Join us for our yearly Safety City Halloween event, a fun-filled fundraising event featuring safe trick-or-treating and family-friendly activities for children ages 0 to 10 years.
We're looking for enthusiastic volunteers to help make the event a success. Volunteer duties may include setting up the event, welcoming guests at admissions, running games and activities, handing out candy and hot chocolate, keeping the site tidy, conducting restroom checks, and helping with cleanup at the end of the day. Your support helps create a safe, festive, and memorable Halloween experience for families in our community.
Volunteers under 14 must be with a volunteer with an adult volunteer. Volunteers 14 to 17 must submit the completed parent consent form.
Volunteers will be required to attend a short orientation on October 22 or 23.
Help Set up Admissions Station, Greet Attendees, Collect entry tickets, sell tickets at the gate, manage cash, run a debit machine. Hand out Programs (one per family) This is an outdoor location. Please dress for the weather. 14 and up.
Help Set up for event, Coordinate with Event organizer to assist in ensuring volunteer communication and support is managed in a reasonable timeframe, help run coffee, tea, hot chocolate, water and food to volunteers when needed, cover stations to allow for bathroom breaks or warm up breaks as needed, communicate using a walkie talkie with event organizer, direct attendees as needed, and other tasks. This position will need to meet with the Event organizer at Safety City at least a day before to tour the site and become oriented on the layout and plans. If you have a valid first aid it would be an asset to this role. You will get your steps in for the day in this role. Comfortable walking shoes are a must. A mix of indoor and outdoor locations. Please dress for the weather conditions in layers that can be easily added or removed based on the situation.
Give out Scavenger Hunts, collect papers when done, give candy or prize for completion. help hand out trick or treat bags and if any are left, help clean up after event. This is an outdoor location. Please dress for the weather.

Dispense premade Tim Horton's Hot Chocolate from spouted Insulated Container for attendees to take. Outdoor Location, next to Tim Hortons building in Safety City. Please dress for the weather. 14 and up.
Help set up and run Mad Scientist Lab station. Monitor sensory bins, keep areas clean and tidy. Indoor location, Aquaterra.
Help Set up the Creature Launch Carnival game, Run game, Help Clean up station after event end. Outdoor Location, Please come dressed for the weather.
This position will be making sure the lines keep moving, asking each child which tattoo they want (only 6 to choose from and only get 1 tattoo) this will be inside the barn.
Help apply glitter tattoos for those who purchase them as part of the fundraiser. Follow AHS guidelines for handwashing and application, keep space clean.
This event is by the barn. Please dress for the weather. Collecting money for the popcorn, cotton candy, glitter tattoos and the donation container. 14 and up.
Pop and serve popcorn to people paying for it at the event. Must be at least 16 years old to run popcorn machine. Help clean machine after the event. One person may volunteer as support if under 16.

Clean tables and chairs, put back where they belong, sweep, take down decorations, cleaning the bathrooms, shutting off the lights after the facilities are cleaned.
