WHAT:

WHERE: Glenwood Park, 18735 SE Glenwood St. Portland, Oregon 97266.

WHEN: Saturday, October 29, 10:00 am - 1:00 pm. Registration will open at 10:00 am, Volunteer activities will begin at 11:00 am.

WHAT TO EXPECT: Select to participate in either the Tree Care or Tree Planting as a Volunteer or as a Crew Leader, please see descriptions below.
- Tree Care - Help existing park trees to improve their quality of life. Work includes light pruning, weeding, and mulching.
- Tree Planting - Plant trees at the park, following proper planting tecniques helps ensure a healthy tree. Work includes digging in urban soils, preparing tree rootball, mulching, staking, and watering.

Portland Parks & Recreation Urban Forestry's mission is to manage and ensure Portland's urban forest infrastructure for current and future generations. Portland’s urban forest consists of 220,000 street trees, 1.2 million park trees, and innumerable private property trees. Urban Forestry is involved in managing or regulating all of these trees to differing degrees. Urban Forestry staff issue permits for planting, pruning, and removal of all public and some private trees and are on call 24/7 to respond to tree emergencies.
