SOUL-Community Tree Monitor

PLEASE SEE FLYER FOR MORE INFO

Sustaining Our Urban Landscape (SOUL) is a New Orleans-based organization dedicated to driving a resilient and environmentally equitable New Orleans by reforesting the city. SOUL has begun planting trees in the historic Pontchartrain Park neighborhood and wants to better understand how mature trees impact stormwater run-off in the neighborhood. To do this, SOUL is looking to recruit two Community Tree Monitors to assess how trees affect stormwater absorption across Pontchartrain Park. Community Tree Monitors will measure and track specific sites along the edge of the park and on nearby streets using the ISeeChange data and engagement platform. Following rain events, Community Tree Monitors will be asked to perform simple observations for these sites and input them on ISeeChange’s web application, including photographs of flooding, puddles, standing water.

No shifts have been set up for this event yet.
