Please join Restore the Mississippi River Delta for a Community Conversation about the Mid-Barataria Sediment Diversion: What to Know and How to Get Involved. The dates and times are March 22, at 5 PM, March 23, 12:00 PM and April 20, 12:00 PM.

The Coastal Protection and Restoration Authority (CPRA), the Louisiana Trustee Implementation Group (LATIG) and the Environmental Law Institute (ELI) have partnered to host a dialogue, facilitated by Restore the Mississippi River Delta Coalition (MRD) to provide information on the Mid-Barataria Sediment Diversion. Following the recent release of a 5,000 page Draft Environmental Impact Statement by the Army Corps of Engineers and a Restoration Plan by the TIG, these meetings will provide the public an informal opportunity to learn about the projects, the documents, how to become involved and how to provide formal public comments. Note that these are not official public meetings but attendees will be given the details on how to attend formal public meetings and how to submit their comments.

The Natural Resource Damage Assessment (NRDA) Louisiana Trustee Implementation Group (LATIG) also released a draft Restoration Plan identifying how the project will help restore the ecosystem in the aftermath of the Deepwater Horizon oil spill.
