Breakfast Club” with readings with Bev Chase

Thursday, April 22 2021

Start the day with inspiring sunrise readings about nature while sipping your morning coffee with new friends amongst Cyprus knees, Spanish moss, and other exotic Louisiana wildlife by the bayou. Bev Chase, moderator of NNC's book club, will begin this new adventure reading aloud extracts from Alexander von Humboldt's 1850 classic Views of Nature about awesome observations he recorded in travels to the New World, the Russian Urals, Europe, the Middle East, and Himalayas. Although you may not have heard of this early environmentalist, his writing influenced Darwin, Goethe, Thoreau, Wordsworth, Audubon, Muir, even Thomas Jefferson, and he's sure to impress you too. Register today to herald Spring in on an upbeat note. Reservations Required. Free for members, non-members-$5.00 Call 985-626-1238 or email Rue@northlakenature.org
