The Louisiana Iris Conservation Initiative (LICI) will be doing an iris planting event near a picnic pavilion at the Fontainebleau State Park near Mandeville, La on Wednesday, January 27th.

I. giganticaerulea species irises from the LICI iris rescue program will be used for this planting.

Long pants and regular rubber rain boots are recommended for this event.

Wearing masks and social distancing will be done by the volunteers.

Any help that you can give will be greatly appreciated.

This will be the second year that irises are planted at this location. The plan is to have these irises grow over the years so that they can be thinned out in the future for use in other projects within the park.

Please email us at licisaveirises@gmail.com with any questions or to register for this event.
