White Flag Shelter

On nights that are 35 degrees or below, or 38 degrees and below with steady or heavy precipitation, Street Reach of Johnston County provides a White Flag Shelter for the unsheltered in Johnston County. We offer a hot meal and a warm bed. Intake begins at 7 pm and ends at 8:30 pm and the shelter closes at 8 am the next morning. We offer transportation into and out of the shelter, transportation begins one hour before opening and ends one hour after closing within the Selma and Smithfield area.
Assist participants upon arrival with bag checks, first time attendee paper work and orientation, security wanding, and general questions
Asleep overnight position - assist the awake overnight host as needed unless there is an emergency
Awake overnight position - will monitor participants and respond to requests and needs, monitor doors and bathrooms and perform hourly checks
